Young Masters Art Class
Little Beasties is excited to offer another opportunity for self-discovery through art by studying famous artists and their well-known masterpieces.
Artists we will study include:
Van Gogh, Seurat, Mondrian, O’Keefe, Pollock, Warhol & Picasso
Examples of art students will create:

Section A
5th, 6th, 7th & 8th graders
March 12 – April 30
Wednesday 1:00 – 3:00
Section B
2nd, 3rd & 4th graders
March 13 – May 1
Thursdays 1:00 – 3:00
Cost
Cost is $120 (12 hours of instruction)
$100 for any additional children

Lessons
Each lesson will explore both the principles of design and the different techniques used by the Masters to create art. Children will create age- appropriate projects that incorporate new skills using a variety of media and approaches.
Purpose
Little Beasties is committed to enhancing creativity, critical thinking, and social skills of the children in our community through art. We strive to make learning with us positive, engaging, and fun.
About the Instructor

Kelly Dorey, received a BA degree in Studio Art and Education from Mary Baldwin College. She taught Art and Drama (K-8) in the Lexington City Schools, worked with Fine Arts in Rockbridge (F.A.I.R), and taught Art in three Rockbridge County Elementary Schools. She created an Art curriculum that taught the fundamentals of Art and explored Art History, helping children to create artwork that accompanied and expanded on the Standards of Learning taught in the classroom. With over 25 years of experience working with children of all ages, Kelly recognizes the importance of Art and the creative process in children’s learning and development and has witnessed the many benefits art provides.
